What a week.
LA and back in less than 48 hours is exhausting. I learned a very good lesson, though - I will NEVER take a red-eye again unless it’s direct. I had a four hour layover in Las Vegas on the way back, and while that was sorta nice in that I FINALLY made it to Vegas (after American Airlines canceled my entire trip for Jeanine’s birthday), it also meant that I got on a plane at 11pm PST, and landed at 6am EST. That’s about four hours in the air. Normally I get at least a few hours of sleep on a red-eye, but with the shortened flight time, I think I only slept for maybe two hours.
My frustration with airlines is also increasing rapidly. Neither my flight there or back went exactly as planned (there, they rebooked me on another airline, back my original flight was delayed enough that I was going to miss my connection), and the idea of not having to travel quite as much as I currently do is becoming more and more appealing.
I worked yesterday. I was loopy, and probably sounded dead to anyone who had the unfortunate need to have to talk to me on the phone (I warned them all before speaking with them), but I was also weirdly productive. I ended up starting..and finishing…a project I’d expected to spend all weekend on. But it was one of those things that since the moment it was handed to me my head was spinning with ideas - even so far as I know I fell asleep on the plane thinking about it. Once I sat down to start it, I couldn’t stop, I just had to get everything done. I had fun.
Next weekend I’m in NYC - I’m flying up on Wednesday night for the BlogHer Business Conference. I’m speaking on the second day keynote panel (Friday), and then spending the weekend at my parents. Saturday I’m seeing J (yay - finally), then back home bright and early Monday morning (pause while I book the cat sitter).
Soo, while I really want to be horribly lazy today, I kinda need to get stuff done since I won’t be around next weekend. I’ll just be partially lazy.
